At the end of March, Delta Tau Delta’s philanthropy events for JDRF were just beginning. On April 3 at the University of Kansas, the Gamma Tau chapter hosted a live music night complete with a band and grill-out. This event, “Jamming for JDRF,” raised more than $1,500, with all proceeds going to fund juvenile diabetes research. Then on April 11, members set up tables at Wescoe Beach throughout the day as they seeked to educate the student body on JDRF, juvenile diabetes, and how diagnosis while in college may be more common than one might think. Each of these events work to embolden Delt members’ commitment to the core value of service, both on and off campus.
